In compliance with the Philippines’ Anti-Money Laundering Act, we will no longer release benefits more than Php 500,000 or USD 10,000 through the Pick-up Anywhere (PUA) facility starting September 13, 2021. Your policy number is the unique identifier of your policy with BPI AIA (formerly Ayala Life). It is indicated on the front page of your policy contract. Your policy number will be helpful in your inquiries about your policy.
The effective date of the policy is the start of your insurance coverage. It is indicated on the front page of your policy.
The contestability period is the time period during which the insurer is not obligated to pay a claim because of material misrepresentations found in the application. A policy becomes “incontestable” when the contestability period of normally two (2) years is over.
Your policy can be assigned to a third party i.e., bank as a collateral. However, if you will assign your policy to a third party, BPI AIA should be informed in writing through the accomplishment of the Policy Assignment Form. During assignment, your rights as the owner is transferred to the party to which the policy was assigned.
The most common beneficiaries are immediate family members, descendants, heirs, employers, established business partners and charities of the insured.
Here, we apply the concept of “insurable interest” wherein we scrutinize the legitimacy of a life insurance policy and its beneficiary. The intention of life insurance is to provide financial assistance to the beneficiary after the death of the insured. Therefore, the beneficiary must have an insurable interest with the insured. He/ she should not gain with the loss of the insured’s life.
Your beneficiary could also be assigned as revocable beneficiary, which means that your beneficiary has no vested rights on your policy. The rights of a revocable beneficiary are limited to receiving the death benefit proceeds of the policy.
While the irrevocable beneficiary, being part owner of the policy, has vested rights thus any changes made on the policy will require a written consent from him/her.
Should your beneficiary die before the insured, as owner of the policy, you can nominate a new beneficiary or a contingent beneficiary by amending your policy. If no beneficiary is named on your policy, the death benefit proceeds will be payable to the estate of the insured.
If in case there are discrepancies or wrong information on your policy contract, you can correct it by applying for a change or an amendment for your policy.

You may choose to decrease the face amount of your policy by accomplishing the following forms and submitting to any BPI AIA Bancassurance Sales Executive assigned in BPI and BPI Family Bank branches nationwide.
A rider is a supplementary contract attached to your policy. It provides additional benefits at minimal cost. A rider is normally attached during purchase of the insurance policy, but you also have the choice to remove a previously attached rider or add more to your existing riders.

You normally nominate your beneficiary/ies upon application for insurance. However, you may change your beneficiary/ies any time after the policy has been issued. The following are the requirements in change of beneficiary/ies:
For cases that there are discrepancies in the birth date indicated in your policy and the birth date indicated in your birth certificate, you can amend the one in the policy by submitting the following:
A policy loan is available for traditional life insurance policies. If you are in need of extra funds, you may apply for a policy loan but note that this incurs a corresponding loan interest. If the principal and the interest are not paid within a policy cycle, this results in a loan balance compounding, where the unpaid interest adds up to the principal and a new loan interest is computed. Any unpaid loan balance gets deducted from the policy benefit that is paid to the insured or beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, for investment-linked policies, you may apply for a partial withdrawal against the account value. Note, however, that this affects the monthly charges applied against your policy as the net amount at risk increases.

Always pay on the due date as indicated on your policy contract or within the 31-day grace period. The frequency of your payment depends on the mode of payment chosen:
The less frequent the mode of payment is, the less you pay!
If you miss premium payment within the grace period, your policy and its benefits will lapse. If your policy, however, has enough cash value, you may use this to cover your premium due.
Note, however, that the application of insurance premium against your policy’s cash value results in policy loan that incurs an interest rate. Any unpaid loan balance is deducted from future policy benefits or claims.

If you are unable to pay for your premiums during your date, you have a 31-day grace period in which you will be allowed to pay without interest.
During the period of grace, your policy is still active or in-force. If death occurs during the period of grace, the unpaid premiums and any indebtedness shall be deducted from the death benefit.
Once the grace period expires, the policy will lapse and you have the option to reinstate within three (3) years to make your policy in-force.
Payments made beyond the grace period will result to policy lapsation unless the policy has earned sufficient cash values to pay for future premiums and the Premium Loan Option was selected at the time of insurance application. In such case, the premium due on the policy will be treated as a loan as provided for in the Premium Loan provision for regular-pay plans. You may also opt to apply for a Premium Holiday.
Premiums paid after the grace period may result in the termination of insurance protection or reduce your insurance coverage.

The chosen mode should conform to the cycle of the original mode of premium payment. For example, if the original mode was quarterly, then you may shift to an annual basis only on the policy anniversary, i.e., on the first quarter payment date.

Payments from overseas remittances will be confirmed after 3-7 banking days. You may check the My AIA payments section to see confirmation of your payment and electronic Official Receipt (eOR). If you have registered an email address, you will receive a document with a summary of your latest premium payments.
To check your premium payments, you may log on to My AIA and go to the payments section under Policy Details. You will see a record of all your payments made in the last two years and the corresponding electronic Official Receipt (eOR). You may also trigger a conversation with Bessie, our chatbot via Facebook Messenger and choose Policy/Payment Details in the menu. If you have registered an email address, you will receive a document with a summary of your latest premium payments.

Your policy may have lapsed because we did not receive the payment for your policy’s premium due on or before the end of your policy’s grace period.

f you purchased an insurance product bundled with AIA Vitality, you can enjoy an upfront 10% or 15% premium discount or upfront 20% additional insurance coverage, depending on the plan you purchased. Your e-Membership card can be found on the homepage of the AIA Vitality app. Simply click on Settings > AIA Vitality Membership Card to display your card with your name and AIA Vitality membership number. Tap on the screen to show the barcode on the reverse side.
You can use your e-Membership card to avail of your discount benefits from partner establishments. You may be required by some partners to present a valid government photo ID as additional verification.

You may link your fitness device or app through the AIA Vitality app. On the app, go to Fitness Devices and Apps, click the Link a Device or App button, select your fitness device or app from the list, and follow the succeeding steps.
You can link as many devices or apps as you want but only one physical activity will be credited with points per day.
If your fitness device or app is not directly compatible to AIA Vitality, check if it is pairable with Apple Health or S Health. If yes, proceed with pairing. You may search online for steps on how to pair your device or app to Apple Health or S Health.
Once done, you may now link Apple Health or S Health to AIA Vitality. Data from your fitness device or app will be passed on to AIA Vitality through Apple Health or S Health.
The AIA Vitality app can be accessed from My AIA. Just click Forgot login details and provide the necessary information to retrieve your login details.
If your AIA Vitality account got disabled or you got locked out from your account, send an email to BPIAIA.customerservice@aia.com to request reactivation of your account.
Your account will be disabled if you input the wrong username and/or password three (3) consecutive times. Before your account gets disabled, we recommend that you retrieve your username and password already.

You may upload the results of your AIA Vitality Health Check, advanced health screening, vaccination, and dental assessment though the AIA Vitality app to earn points.
On the AIA Vitality app, click More > Health Assessments and choose the applicable assessment. Complete the needed information and upload a copy of your health results.
Please note that manually submitted assessment results are subject to audit. AIA Vitality reserves the right to terminate a membership if proven that falsification or fraud was committed.
Better sleep means better health! Get 7 hours of sleep daily to enjoy up to 1,825 AIA Vitality Points yearly. Make a good night's rest a habit and ease your way to wellness while earning easy points!

If your workouts are not awarded with points, please try the following:
If your workout is reflected on the Points Statement of the AIA Vitality app but no points are awarded, it means that you have already maxed out the 15,000 points annual limit for physical activities.
No worries, because points are still being recorded on your AIA Vitality Active app towards your weekly target.
If your AIA Vitality Points suddenly went back to zero, it means that you have already reached your membership anniversary and you are now on your new membership year. However, your attained AIA Vitality Status from the previous year is carried over to the next year so you still have one full year to enjoy the perks and benefits that come with your attained status.
If you surpass your current status in your new membership year, you can automatically enjoy the benefits specific to the higher status such as bigger discounts from our partners.
If you didn't earn a reward after achieving your weekly fitness target, you either:

To check the current level of your premium discount or additional coverage, log in to your My AIA account, go to the Policy Details tab, click Basic Policy Information, and select the policy you would like to check.
Under the Membership Details section, you may find your current level of premium discount or additional coverage.
Adjustment in the premium discount or additional coverage is computed 15 days after your policy anniversary. Your AIA Vitality Status during the anniversary of your policy will be the basis in re-computing your insurance benefit.
If your membership has lapsed, send us an email at ask@aiavitality.com.ph. A lapsed membership means you will not be able to access your AIA Vitality account, earn points, avail partner benefit, nor earn any reward.

Your e-Membership card can be found on the home page of the AIA Vitality app. Simply click on Settings > AIA Vitality Membership Card to display your card with your name and AIA Vitality membership number. Tap on the screen to show the barcode on the reverse side.
You can use your e-Membership card to avail of your discount benefits from partner establishments. You may be required by some partners to present a valid government photo ID as additional verification.

2. Submit requirements needed, depending on your type of claim. The documents must be in .jpg or .pdf formats and must not exceed 5MB in file size. For multiple documents, kindly have them collated into one file before uploading.
3. Get your reference number for status tracking.

Once you submit your requirements, your request will be reviewed and evaluated by our claims team. Please expect an update from us via SMS and e-mail within 7 to 10 working days.
Your benefit pay-out will be credited to your nominated BPI account or for benefit amount that is less than Php500,000 you may choose pick-up anywhere at any BPI branch as a means to receive your claim benefit.
Depending on the nature or type of claim and submission of complete documents, your claim request may be processed in ten (10) to thirty (30) working days. Your policy benefit will be credited to your nominated account within three (3) days from the approval of claim request.

A BPI AIA Customer Service Representative will get back to you on the status of your claim request within one (1) day.
While the benefit amount to be paid out for claim requests are subject to our assessor’s evaluation and approval, you can still easily check the amount covered by your policy benefits by reviewing your policy details in My AIA. Your insurance policy contract also has a Summary of Coverage and Benefits Page for easy and ready reference.

To file an appeal for your denied claim request, simply send us an email at claims@aia.com. A BPI AIA representative will contact you within 1-2 days to assist you with the next steps.
